Wide range of facilities and medical services

The ultrasound (also known as sonography or ultrasonography) constitutes a noninvasive imaging technique. An ultrasound image is called a sonograph. The ultrasound technique enables our medical specialist to obtain details of soft tissues inside the body without making any incisions (cuts). Ultrasound technology is largely safe with no harmful side effects. Ultrasound does not use radiation, unlike some other medical imaging tests, such as X-rays and CT scans. Our healthcare experts use ultrasound tests for several purposes, including during pregnancy and for diagnosing conditions, etc.

Our Diagnostic ultrasound

Our healthcare specialists use diagnostic ultrasound to observe internal parts of the body to see if something is wrong or not working properly.

Our diagnostic ultrasound techniques include:

  • Abdominal ultrasound is able to diagnose many causes of abdominal pain.
  • Kidney (renal) ultrasound enables the assessment of the size, location and shape of the kidneys and related structures, such the ureters and bladder. It is able to detect cysts, tumours, obstructions or infections within or around the kidney.
  • Breast ultrasound is a noninvasive test for the identification of breast lumps and cysts. This test may follow as a result of an abnormal mammogram.
  • Doppler ultrasound assesses the movement of materials, like blood, in the body. It enables the observation and evaluation of the blood flow through the arteries and veins in the body.
  • Pelvic ultrasound observes the organs in the pelvic area between the lower abdomen (belly) and legs. Some of these pelvic organs include the bladder, prostate, rectum, ovaries, uterus and vagina.
  • Thyroid ultrasound is used for the assessment of thyroid, a butterfly-shaped endocrine gland in the neck. The size of the thyroid can be measured for the determination of the presence or absence of nodules or lesions within the gland.
  • Transrectal ultrasound evaluates the rectum or other nearby tissues, such as the prostate in the male.
